Dr Ali Altaee works at the forefront of renewable energy, water engineering, and soil remediation, developing innovative technologies in alternative energy and water sources. Ali is a member of the UTS Centre for Green Technology (CGT) and the Centre for Technology in Water and Wastewater (CTWW), a leading research center in alternative water sources. He has developed industrial and academic expertise working at industrial research centers and institutes of higher education and has particular research expertise in advanced materials for energy and environmental applications.

Abstract Title: Enhancing Indoor Air Quality in Higher Education through Biophilic Design: A Sustainable Approach for Healthier Learning Environments
Maria Idália Gomes is an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa. She holds a PhD in Civil Engineering in the specialty of Construction Sciences from the Faculty of Science and Technology at the New University of Lisbon, on the subject of “Conservation of rammed earth constructions: repair mortars”. She is currently a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Degree in Civil Engineering, and carries out research in the area of construction products with low embodied energy, conservation and durability. She has supervised and co-supervised several master’s and doctoral theses. She has participated in research projects in the area of sustainable construction, and has published a significant number of articles in international and national journals and congresses. nZEB Consultant (2016-2020) – SouthZEB Portugal. Co-funded by the inteligente Energy Europe Program of the European Union. She is a member of the research center CERIS – Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability, where she works on the technical committee for standardization in the area of building sustainability.
